30. Januar 2019The Royal Opera House in Madrid has cancelled the guest performance of the Ensemble Shen Yun Performing Arts for technical reasons.
Shen Yun Performing Arts is a premier classical Chinese dance and music company established in New York. It performs classical Chinese dance, ethnic and folk dance, and story-based dance, with orchestral accompaniment and solo performers. The culture has flourished for 5,000 years in the land of China. Through breathtaking music and dance, Shen Yun is reviving this glorious culture. Shen Yun, or 神韻, can be translated as: “The beauty of dancing divine creations.”
But in reality, insiders suspect, these technical difficulties do not exist. The opera house in Madrid is well equipped in this respect. The former Czech Minister of Culture, Daniel Hermann, was also critical. He is convinced that the Chinese embassy has its fingers in the pie. It resorted to blackmail.
Piquant: In addition, the Chinese Ambassador to Spain is part of the „Diplomatic Circle“ of the Royal Opera House, a group of diplomats who, according to the theatre website, promote the international fame of the theatre.
Since the formation of the ensemble in 2006, the Chinese regime has repeatedly derailed its performances, inter alia in Holland, Denmark, South Korea, Australia and the United States.
In most cases, the Chinese embassy tries to put pressure on the theatres to refuse Shen Yun touring or to cancel his shows. The communist regime also puts pressure on government officials to deter from watching the performances or to publicly back the company.
The New York-based company was founded by practitioners of the Falun Gong Buddhist Cultivation School who are persecuted on the Chinese mainland for their faith.
In 1999, the then President of China, Jiang Zemin, initiated a nationwide brutal campaign to exterminate Falun Gong after a state census had shown that the number of practitioners at the time, at around 100 million, far exceeded the 70,000 members of the CP.
