Since 2016, the small Upper Franconian town of Kronach has organised the „KRONACH leuchtet®“ light festival every spring.

In the meantime, it is not only known nationally, but also internationally. This is not least due to the International Lighting Design Workshops for Students which take place as part of the festival.

For six days, renowned lecturers will teach the basics of high-quality lighting: all the essentials about lights, their various functions and handling. Particular attention will be paid to modern, high-quality architectural lighting. Participants develop lighting concepts and put them into practice. The workshops will be held in English.

There are still places available for this year’s workshops from 21 to 26 April 2019. European students are eligible for ERASMUS+ funding.

The workshops will take place during the build-up week to the Light Festival. Each of the workshop groups has its own area in the heart of the attractive old town. The students explore this area and develop ideas and concepts for its lighting. This is followed by practical implementation. The final result will be presented at the Light Festival, which will open on 26.04.2019.

Fees for registration until 1 March 2019: 300 Euro, then 350 Euro.
